My first knee surgery was not in Houston and I did not have a CPM.  My surgeon in Houston did prescribe a CPM and it was very helpful during my early recovery. It definitely helped my knee bend and straighten during the first days after surgery. I had never seen a CPM and this was my first total knee replacement.  I can&#8217;t imagine NOT using a CPM after this big surgery. The machine has been very helpful and I feel more confident moving my knee in therapy and at home.
